The Moment It Clicked: Healing Isn’t About Becoming Someone Else
It’s about remembering who you were before the world told you to shrink.
There was a time when I thought healing meant becoming a better version of myself. More disciplined. More confident. More productive. Less emotional. Less sensitive. Less “too much.”
For years, I chased transformation like a performance. But no matter how much I worked on my mindset, set goals, or read all the books — something always felt... off. The changes never stuck. Or they did — but they didn’t feel like me.
Then one day, in the middle of a tapping session, I felt it. That moment when everything softened. When the noise dropped out. When I could hear, for the first time in a long time, the part of me that wasn’t scared or striving or overwhelmed.
I met my Self — capital S Self. The wise, grounded, intuitive part of me that had never left — I had just stopped listening.
Why Tapping Helped Me Find Her Again
EFT tapping works by calming the nervous system and quieting the survival responses in the body — the fear, the self-doubt, the critical inner voice.
Those voices aren’t who we are — they’re who we learned to be to stay safe in a world that rewards performance and punishes sensitivity.
As I tapped, the mental chatter got quieter. The inner critic softened. The fear of getting it wrong stopped shouting over everything else.
And what came through in that quiet?
Truth.
Clarity.
Compassion.
That deep inner knowing that I had always known — I had just been taught to question it.
Healing Is a Remembering
It was in that moment I realized:
I wasn’t healing to become someone else.
I was healing to come back to myself.
The real transformation wasn’t in becoming a perfect, polished, high-functioning version of me. It was in reclaiming the parts of me I had buried to survive:
The sensitive one
The creative one
The wildly intuitive one
The one who needed rest
The one who didn’t want to prove anything to anyone anymore
Society Teaches Us to Distrust Ourselves — Tapping Helps Us Rebuild That Trust
So many women I work with have that same ache. They don’t want to become someone else — they just want to feel like themselves again.
But when you’ve spent years being told your body isn’t trustworthy, your emotions are too much, or your intuition is wrong… that’s not an easy switch to flip. That’s why nervous system healing is everything. Because when you regulate the fear, the noise, the overthinking — you make space for Self to return. Not in a loud, dramatic way. But in a soft, certain way. The kind that says: You already know. I’m still here.
You Don’t Need Fixing. You Need Remembering.
So if you’re in a season of coming home to yourself, know this:
You don’t have to be more.
You don’t have to force anything.
You don’t have to become anyone but you.
Healing isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about remembering who you were before the world told you to shrink.
And that remembering? That’s what we create space for inside The Healing Hive and in my 1:1 sessions.
You don’t have to perform healing.
You just have to make space to receive it.
